How to move on after divorce or a bad breakup
That's part of what I'll be covering in my workshop on April 4, and I just read a great article with five tips
on the same subject. The article is "How to Get Your Sexy Back after a Divorce or Bad Breakup" at http://advice.eharmony.com/article/how-to-get-your-sexy-back-after-a-divorce-or-bad-breakup.html?cid=23600&aid=705. My workshop is called, "You're not the fool: Reframing April Fool's Day by Writing (and Rewriting)
Relationship Stories and Moving On." Saturday, April 4, 2 - 4 p.m. Artmosphere Cafe, 3311 Rhode Island Avenue,
Mt. Ranier, Maryland. www.artmospherecafe.com. We've all had them Times when a bad relationship has left us feeling like a fool. Well, come to this workshop/reading
and turn that around. Bring a journal or some sheets of paper and write your way through the negative emotions to the
other side. Cost: $15 book purchase. Food available for purchase. Hope to see you on the 4th, and hope you enjoy the article.

Five Keys to Rebuilding Confidence, Humor and Optimism After Divorce
That's been the topic of the radio interviews I've been doing this week in advance of Valentine's Day and in
promotion of my novel, Land Mines. Here's what I say are the 5 Keys to Rebuilding Confidence, Humor and Optimism
After Divorce: 1) Love yourself 2) Believe that your best days are ahead of you 3) Engage in self-reflection
(journaling is a great way to do this) 4) Read self-help books 5) Have faith. What do you think the five
keys are? I'd love to hear back from you. Make a post here or email me at svance@TheElevatorGroup.com. I'll expand on all five of those topics in articles to be posted on the website in upcoming weeks. Have
a Happy Valentine's Day! Peace--SV

President Obama as my type of man
I'm quoted in today's Philadelphia Daily News about President Obama as role model/sex symbol/the type of man we
ladies want. It's in Jenice Armstrong's wonderful column. Check it out at http://www.philly.com/dailynews/features/39129282.html. Below are the photos of what I mention in the column. I took them at the Biden Home States Pennsylvania and Delaware
Inaugural Ball, where I stood right down front with an unobstructed view and a 12x zoom camera. I'll post more photos
this weekend when I do my official Inauguration blog. I've been really busy since the inauguration. Besides
my full-time job, I've been preparing for my book launch party for my novel, Land Mines, tomorrow, Feb. 6, at my office.
Anyway, enjoy the photos. Peace. --SV

Better than a new tube of lipstick™
Last night, Jim Cramer, on his Mad Money show on CNBC, interviewed the CEO of the
Tupperware Company. Cramer said that Tupperware was a good stock to buy. (See the video at http://www.cnbc.com/id/28884909.) The CEO said that was because in this tough economy, people were staying home and cooking more, so they needed
storage containers, like Tupperware, for their leftover food. And, he said that another significant portion of the company
was concentrated on selling beauty products. The CEO said that in this economy, if women didn't have alot of money
to spend on luxuries, at least they were going to spend a little bit of money on beauty products because they still wanted
to look good.
That echos an old saying that women will buy a tube of lipstick if they want to feel better and don't have a lot
of money to spend. Yes, that's true. I've done it myself. But, we've adopted a new trademark
at The Elevator Group that a book from The Elevator Group is "better than a new tube of lipstick™." If you only have $15 or $20 to spend and want to feel better, why not spend it on a book
that will entertain you, lift your spirits and show you characters with spirit who never give up, like in Chasing
the 400; or a book in the "therapeutic fiction" genre that will show you how a woman rebuilt her life after
great loss and having the rug pulled out from under her, like in Land Mines; or a book that will help you meet your
weight loss challenges without having to spend hundreds of dollars, like A Christian Woman's Journal to Weight Loss?
A book lasts longer than a tube of lipstick and, in some cases, is less expensive. So, if you want to
lift your spirits and don't have a lot of money to spend, try a book from The Elevator Group...it's better than a
new tube of lipstick™. --Peace. SV
